senior grading: level 2

I started off as a Level 1 student when I commenced my guitar lessons in late 2009. Assessment was done regularly against the following check list:

A. Picking: Steady on exercises 1 to 5 at 80 bpm.
B. Chords: C, G, G7, Am, D7, E7 and A7 changeable at a slow tempo.
C. Arpeggios: All above chords used in a basic 4/4 arpeggio pattern.
D. Scales: Open C scale.
E. Strumming: Can strum all exercises from lessons 1 and 2 of Rhythm Book provided.
F. Reading: Can read and play all listed in lessons 1 to 6 of PGM Book 1.
G. Aural: 1) Pitch - Can recognise 4 note melodies on 1st, 2nd and 3rd strings; 2) Rhythm - Can clap back any exercise from Rhythm Book lesson 2.
H. Songs: Can play these songs from memory:
1) Birthday (The Beatles)
2) Good Riddance
3) Sweet Home Alabama
4) Smoke on the Water

Today, I was officially promoted to Level 2. From now on, I will be assessed against the following check list:

A. Picking: Steady on exercises 1 to 5 at 100 bpm. (I can easily do this already)
B. Chords: A, E, Em, C7, B7, E5, A5 and D5 changeable at a slow tempo.
C. Arpeggios: Arpeggios using the above chords in 4/4 and 6/8 patterns.
D. Scales: G major in first position including open notes. E minor pentatonic in open.
E. Strumming: Can strum all exercises from lessons 3 and 4 of the Rhythm Book.
F. Reading: Up to lesson 12 of the PGM Book 1.
G. Aural: 1) Pitch - Major 2nd and octave intervals; 2) Rhythm - Can clap back any exercise from Rhythm Book lesson 3.
H. Songs: Can play these songs from memory:
1) Wild Things
2) Stand By Me
3) Sunshine of Your Love
4) Wish You Were Here
5) 12 Bar Blues in A
6) Lola
7) Knocking on Heaven's Door
8) Let it Be
