jigoku shoujo futakomori

This is the second season of Jigoku Shoujo. The stories are darker (I agree with tudi here). In this season, you see people abusing the Jigoku Tsuushin (Hell Correspondence Hotline). In more than 1 episode, we see kids taking revenge on members of their immediate family. The idea of sending your own parents or siblings to hell is unacceptable to me. I wonder what impact this anime has on young kids.

I enjoyed this season and thought it better than the first because this season finally offers glimpses into Enma Ai's three assistants' pasts and how they came into her service - Wanyuudou the grandfatherly figure, Hone-Onna the sexy seductive lady, and Ichimoku Ren the oh-so-boyish big brother (he's my favourite hehe). It's also less creepy than the previous season.

I don't understand Kikuri's (the irritating little girl with huge purple eyes) role in this series. She's a bit redundant, don't you think? And I totally didn't get the ending. Like huh? Can someone explain to me why Enma Ai did what she did and what Kikuri meant by "Ai's answer was exemplary"?

And halfway through watching, I was reminded of a question I had somewhere towards the end of season 1 that still isn't answered: the part when the reporter Shibata was brought to Enma Ai's house, her grandmother asked him to do something for her - what was it?

Anyways, there are many more questions to be answered. Hopefully we'll get them answered in Season 3: Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae (according to wiki, it started showing on Japanese TV just this month so I think it'll be some time before we get to stream it online eh?).

shifu, i agree with u exactly abt kikuri but towards the end, she's revealed as the King of Hell who's the reason why Enma has to serve out her punishment so many hundreds of years ago. She's somewhat like the spider in season 1.

i think her role is to purposely throw a spanner in the works and test whether enma will get involved.

the ending well... i think enma put a stop to all the discrimination and fear by taking on all those bad people and making herself the target. Self-sacrifice ba. That's why it's exemplary.

yay... got season 3.
